About the film
At a biotech conference, someone opens what should have stayed shut. Within minutes Seoul’s most advanced facility becomes a sealed box: the doors lock, the signal dies, and a few hundred people are left inside with a virus that refuses to settle on one shape.
Professor Se-jeong is among those still breathing. The infected around her change faster than anyone can work out the rules, and every hour inside the building brings a new version of the thing hunting them. Survival here is not a question of strength but of how quickly you decide.
Yeon Sang-ho, who rewrote the genre’s rules a decade ago on a train out of Busan, returns to what he does best: a closed space, people you understand immediately, and an infection that never behaves the way you expect.

Why this hour
A night has to open with a film that asks nothing of you and still makes it clear the way out is closed. Colony does that inside half an hour: the room is still loud, and the screen has already locked the doors. It sets the tone and stops anyone from getting comfortable.
